About VoiceDot

VoiceDot was born on the anniversary of the war against Ukraine.

I launched the first version on February 24, 2026. Before opening it to the world, I shared it with a few friends — people who, like me, had lost the certainty that tomorrow would be ordinary. Their voices became the first recordings on the globe.

This project was inspired by Life in a Day — a film stitched together from thousands of videos by ordinary people, all filming one single day on Earth.

This globe is trying to do the same thing — with voices. So that thousands of small stories add up to a living portrait of humanity.

Why?

VoiceDot exists so that people live and love each other. So that no one ever reaches for what is not theirs — someone else's land, someone else's home, someone else's peace. That is the whole idea. There is no other.

The stories here are all different — joyful, funny, sad, about pain. That is what life sounds like. And sooner or later almost every one of them gets an answer — from a nearby city or from the other side of the world. No pity — just a living voice next to you: you've been heard. You are not alone.

How it works

• Listen — tap any dot on the globe and hear a real voice from that place.
• Record — press the microphone button, tell your story, choose the emotion it carries, and pin it to your place on the map. Your emotion, together with the others, colors your country. You can post as a guest — or sign in with Google: then you can record more often (three recordings per hour instead of one) and reply to other people's stories with your voice.
• Reply — leave a comment under any voice, or answer it with a voice of your own.
• Recording anonymously? — after publishing, you can leave your email. Then, if some wanderer from the other side of the world ever replies to your story, the letter will find you. Your email is never shown anywhere — it exists only for this.
• Your location stays yours — even when you check "Use my location", we don't see where you are. Your exact coordinates never reach us: your device turns them into just a city name, and your dot is pinned to the center of that city — usually a few kilometers from where you really are. Your true location is never stored anywhere. Even we don't know it.

A world painted by feelings

When you record a story, you choose the feeling it carries: joy, sadness, anger, fear, calm, or love. These feelings add up to the color of your country on the globe.

Lots of joyful voices — the country turns golden. Lots of grief — blue. Love paints it pink. Zoom out — and you'll see how the world is feeling right now. Not through the news or the polls — through the living voices of people.

Nothing is for sale here

VoiceDot has no ads, no subscriptions, no algorithms fighting for your attention. The project is completely non-commercial: it earns nothing — only expenses. Servers, voice storage, maps — I pay for all of it myself. Because I believe the internet should still have at least one place where a person is heard just like that — and where they will always find support.

One last thing — a riddle

Right now, far beyond the planets, in the cold and the dark, a small spacecraft is drifting away from us. It has been flying for almost fifty years. It carries no weapons — only human voices: greetings, laughter, music, a heartbeat. Just in case someone out there, someday, is listening.

We pinned voices to a globe for the same reason.

Zoom all the way out — roll your mouse wheel toward you, or pinch two fingers together on your phone screen — until the globe becomes very small, and look into the dark. Maybe you'll find it.
